After Shishapanma I had a few months working in Hong Kong then the Petzil Rock trip in Getuhe for a few days. Click here for info about this years Getuhe rock trip. After that I was in Laojunshan National Park again working putting up new traditional climbs on the sandstone there. By March 2012 me and my friends had increased the number of routes from just over 30 to over 100 in 2 and a half months.

On the plateau
The first day walking up to 4200 m to make our base camp had to have been one of the hardest days for our film crew. One of my colleagues ended up carrying some of their stuff and they were very slow. As we arrived it rained very hard and putting up the tents was difficult for everyone. I’m so glad I have a tent that pitches outer and inner at the same time so everything stays dry.

Introduction
It was early September 2010 when an old and good friend of mine was talking to me in Hong Kong. He said, ‘One of my rock climbing clients asked me if I can run a mountaineering expedition for them’. They wanted to sponsor a chinese climber to climb a big mountain. He said he had told them he would like to climb the South west face of Shishapangma and could organise a small expedition with him and his friends. He asked if I would like to come, and of course I said yes.

Hey all.
As the fall draws to a close here in HK I find my self looking back on another fast pace season. Its been a few years since I have worked a full stretch on the HK side of the border. It has been a good brake from mainland living and has given me the chance to make a lot of new contacts and friends.

www.coloursofdiscovery.com has a new theme. This is the first theme I have made my self. There is a lot of work to do on it yet but the basics are working now.
The most important thing now is to make it look right in Internet Explorer, but the latest versions of all other browsers I have tried work very well. These include: Chrome, Opera, Firefox and Safari.

The trip report I can't publish!
I can't post this report on my site but if you would like to read it just fill out the contact form like the example below and I will send it to you. Its about a trek that took 7 days around a mountain, it's a classic pilgrimage for a select group of Buddhists.
