Fengshan 2010 part 2

 Eben and Xiyangyangs travels, part 4, back to fengshan.

Day 15
In the morning we worked on the internet and at 1:00 we got a small local bus to take us back to fengshan. It toke about 4 hours to make the journey on dirt roads. We were hot and tired on arrival and went to the new ice cream shop in fengshan. It was very good and much needed. After that longxiang and Jean came to meet us and also eat ice cream. They toke us to dinner and we all got very drunk on baijiu, wine and red bull!

Day 16
We returned to shengndong and had our first really successful day there. We only went for the afternoon and we made and climbed one new route and bolted anchors for a top rope as well.

Day 17
Sunday the 17th of June.
We had made a plan yesterday to get up early and go to a new place but as with most planning here you have to be very flexible! Over night we had one of the heaviest rain storms I had herd for a long time! Thunder, lightning and lots and lots of rain. We stayed in bed till late waiting for the rain to stop and then went to shengndong and made 2 more routes. These two routes are very easy but grate fun. There is also a good possibility of second pitches or extensions of the routes.

Day 18
The morning was spent sorting things and cleaning cloths. After that we went to shegndong and finished off our work from yesterday. We had 3 bolts to add and our drill ran out of power as the last whole was drilled. We got a lift back to fengshan. Had dinner and then I gave out some web ads. Just got back, resting, watching TV.

Day 19
Our last full day in Fengshan. Today was the first day of fengshan’s global geo park inspection. Our job was to show that fengshan had rock climbing. So we were back in Shegndong again just climbing on two of our easy routes. After the inspectors had past through we hitched a lift to a small village called Pingle. A beautiful place surrounded by cliffs, caves and some natural bridges. As we got in the car to go back, Xiyangyang told me she had just accidentally erased all our photos on her camera! I had a look and it was true! no photos! We will wait till tomorrow when we are back in Yangshuo, to see if we can recover them or not.

Day 20
Traveled back to Yangshuo vier heche and Guilin. We were quite worried about more fish being on the buses so in Fengshan we asked and the driver said no fish today! In Heche we were getting on a big new coach back to Guilin so we did not ask about fish. We could not have been more wrong! Arriving back in Guilin and opening the luggage compartment we found yet again box’s of fresh fish! It was not so bad for me, as I had a lot of time to wash my things but Xiyangyang had to get on the train the next day back to Chengdu. However I did manage to get all our photos back from the Sony memory stick.
